Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani Skip CMAs Amid Breakup Rumors: Is Everything Okay?

Country superstar Blake Shelton could be picking up his 12th Country Music Association Award on November 19, 2025, but he and his wife, pop star Gwen Stefani, won’t be attending, per E! News. That news has raised some eyebrows in Nashville since there’s already been buzz building about a possible breakup for the couple, who met on “The Voice” in 2015.

Shelton and Stefani have been married — and practically inseparable — since 2021. But it’s not known if they’ll be together or apart as they skip the CMAs.
Shelton was nominated in the Musical Event of the Year category for his feature on Post Malone’s hit song “Pour Me a Drink.” Hours before the awards ceremony, CMA executives announced in advance that the pair won the award, making it Shelton’s 12th CMA — and one he won’t be present to pick up himself.
Rumors of trouble in his and Stefani’s marriage have been swirling. The day before the CMAs, on November 18, an unnamed source told Star that Shelton and Stefani “have been spending an awful lot of time apart lately.”
When the two fell in love, they were both healing from recent divorces — Blake split from country artist Miranda Lambert and Stefani broke up with rocker Gavin Rossdale. While the Shelton and Stefani had “mutual heartbreak” in common back then, the source told Star that they are “so different and it’s starting to become more apparent now.”
Star Magazine also noted the duo hasn’t been seen together in public for months. In early November, the U.S. Sun reported on numerous “signs” the couple had drifted apart.
Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani Have Both Been Busy With Their Careers
Of course, it’s entirely possible that Shelton and Stefani have just been too busy to attend awards shows and make appearances together lately.
Shelton has been busy promoting his new CBS show “The Road,” which is another competition show for musicians. Unlike “The Voice,” contestants earn their keep by putting on shows during a major country music tour.
Meanwhile, Stefani has been busy promoting her holiday music, including the November 14 release of a deluxe version of her album “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.” She’s also releasing two new singles, “Hot Cocoa” and “Shake the Snow Globe,” which can be heard in the holiday movie “Oh. What. Fun.” according to Good Housekeeping.
On November 18, she talked to KROQ’s Kevin Ryder about her Christmas music and upcoming sold-out No Doubt reunion dates at The Sphere in Las Vegas, noting that all of the opportunities coming her way have been invigorating.
“All of a sudden you just feel alive again,” she said. “You feel like you have a purpose and you feel like you want to use that gift that you have and share it, and you just never know when it’s gonna end so… It gets more intense. You get more nervous. You get more grateful, and yeah, here we are.”

Stefani didn’t shy away from mentioning her husband while on KROQ. She told Ryder that their 2021 hit holiday tune “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” still feel like a bit of a “miracle.”
“You know, me and Blake have this song that I think really does, it kind of sticks for Christmas,” she said. “And that is … the goal, right? To actually get one of those (holiday hits) because you’re not only competing, like, as a songwriter with modern day (artists), but you’re competing with all those old songs and those old artists.”
“So to be able to get something that comes back (each year) has been a miracle,” she said.
Also casting doubt on the breakup rumors surrounding Shelton and Stefani is the fact that they announced on November 17 that they’ll co-headline the 2026 Endymion Extravaganza at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Valentine’s Day, according to WDSU.
