I’m A Celeb star could quit jungle as ITV star spots key sign in huge blow

Ruby Wax has sparked speculation she could be the first celebrity to quit the jungle. It comes as some ITV viewers have called for the satirical comedian to be removed from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! The 72 year old entertainer has already caused criticism for cheekily calling her pre-camp hotel “trash” and demanding a room change.
The interviewer sparked further criticism after ruffling feathers by telling contestant Angry Ginge that he was standing in her light.
Two-time I’m A Celebrity contestant Gillian McKeith has weighed in on the backlash. The former show legend first appeared in the reality series Down Under in 2010 and a second time in the “All-Stars” South Africa series in 2023.
Speaking to Paddy Power Bingo in an exclusive interview for Express.co.uk, Gillian suggested that Ruby is a “divisive” but valuable show contestant.
When quizzed about which contestant could quit the ITV show, she shared: “Possibly Ruby – not because she’s weak, but because she’s divisive. She’ll either last a long time or go early. I hope she stays though.
“The first person out is usually someone who fades into the background and doesn’t get noticed. Currently, everyone is still trying to establish themselves.”
Gillian is currently backing Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley and Loose Women host Kelly Brook making a lasting impression on the show.
“Lisa Riley has unbelievable facial expressions, and Kelly Brook will last – she’s glamorous, lovely, and absolutely knows what she’s doing with those shower scenes,” she added.
Gillian, who is famously remembered for fainting on air during her seventh Bushtucker Trial, said the celebrities in this series appear a lot more calmer.
Ruby, Angry Ginge Lisa and Kelly are also joined by comedian Eddie Kadi, rapper Aitch, Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp, Jack Osbourne, Alex Scott and Shona McGarty.
The nutritionist said: “A couple of people might struggle, perhaps, but no one seems truly phobic yet. Being squeamish is not the same as having a genuine fear.
When I was on the show, I was properly phobic. This group seems much calmer so far.”
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight on ITV at 9pm
