Kings vs. Thunder: Live updates, highlights for Wednesday’s game

The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. This is the third matchup of the season between the two squads. OKC won the first two times, with its latest victory on Nov. 7.

The Thunder (14-1) had a hot start in their 126-109 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday with a franchise-best 49 points in the first quarter. Chet Holmgren had an efficient 26 points. They’ve won six in a row.

Meanwhile, the Kings (3-11) have lost six in a row. They had a 123-110 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. DeMar DeRozan had an efficient 27 points.

Pretty good finish for the Thunder. They’ve created some distance on the scoreboard. Let’s see if they can keep it up with their bench lineup. Gilgeous-Alexander had 28 points and five rebounds. Holmgren has 17 points and six rebounds.

Monk with the 3-pointer. The Kings are doing enough to stick around. Perhaps to the point that Gilgeous-Alexander may be forced to play a fourth quarter for the first time in a while.

LaVine’s halfcourt heave rattled in. But it didn’t count. Tough luck for the Kings, who otherwise had a good first half keeping within striking distance. Outside shooting woes continue to plague OKC, as it probably should be up by more points.

Outside shooting needs to improve. The Thunder have created good looks but can’t knock them down. Other than that, you’re fine with what you’ve seen so far against the Kings.

Not the greatest second unit minutes with Gilgeous-Alexander. Kings played a zone defense that fed shot attempts to Williams and Carlson. OKC will need to figure that out.

Pretty aggressive start by Holmgren. He’s hunting for his shot. To the point he was called for an offensive foul as he tried to muscle his way to the basket.

The Thunder will start Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Cason Wallace, Lu Dort, Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein. The Kings will start Russell Westbrook, Malik Monk, DeMar DeRozan, Precious Achiuwa and Drew Eubanks. Correction: Zach LaVine is starting, not Monk.
