Ukraine marks Children’s Protection Day on November 20 with focus on safety

In Ukraine, Children’s Day is being celebrated for the first time on November 20, coinciding with World Children’s Day.

The holiday was officially enshrined by Presidential Decree No. 355/2025 of May 30, 2025, and each year it gains the status of a state holiday.

Earlier, Children’s Day was celebrated on June 1 by the decree of May 30, 1998, which has since ceased to be in effect.

Also in the materials it is mentioned that Zelensky expressed his position on the current situation with Ukrainian children who have been abducted, pointing to about 400 locations where they may be located outside the country.

The Ministry of Defense assures: the defense forces are doing everything possible and even the impossible to protect children and their future.

“Today Ukraine honors the memory of children whose lives were cut short by Russian terrorists. The aggressor did not give them a chance to grow up in a peaceful country, to dream, to enjoy childhood. It is Ukraine’s duty and the duty of the entire civilized world to do everything to bring those who committed these inhumane crimes to justice. Our soldiers daily do everything possible and even the impossible to protect children and our future”
