Fatih Terim’s new address was almost clear! There was a snag: ‘Economic and sporting aspects…’

After parting ways with Ivan Hasek, the Czech national team started to look for a technical director and Fatih Terim’s name was also mentioned for the coaching position and it was claimed that the experienced coach was the biggest candidate to take over the team.

However, the latest news in the Czech press is that there is no agreement yet and there are differences of opinion in the Czech Football Federation.

Jaroslav Köstl is temporarily in charge of Czechia, which defeated Gibraltar 6-0 in the 8th and final match of the 2026 World Cup European Qualifiers Group L and qualified for the play-offs in 2nd place with 16 points.

‘THE PROCESS IS A BIT COMPLICATED!

Speaking to CT Sport after the Gibraltar match, Czechia Sporting Director Pavel Nedved said about the search for a technical director: “The process is a bit more complicated when it comes to the technical director. Because we have to take into account both economic and sporting aspects. And it is not that simple,” he said.

‘WE HAVE TO FACE IT’

Nedved emphasized that it will take a little more time to find a new coach and said, “I can say that we haven’t reached an agreement yet. It will take some time, we will have to work hard and we will have to face it.”

According to iSport, Fatih Terim and Jürgen Klinsmann are the two foreign candidates to replace Hasek.

According to the report, Nedved has suggested Terim, with whom he worked at Al Shabab, but the board has yet to reach a consensus.
