Panic Button, which is based in Austin, Texas, was founded in 2007 by former Acclaim employees. After developing some original titles in the mid-2000s, including Kinect-based wrestling game Hulk Hogan’s Main Event, Panic Button has become a prolific port studio.

The studio is credited with working on the Nintendo Switch ports of Doom 2016, Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, Warframe [30 articles]” href=”https://www.videogameschronicle.com/games/warframe/”>Warframe, Subnautica, Doom Eternal [146 articles]” href=”https://www.videogameschronicle.com/games/doom-eternal/”>Doom Eternal, Apex Legends [304 articles]” href=”https://www.videogameschronicle.com/games/titanfall/apex-legends/”>Apex Legends, and more.

Panic Button is also credited as the port house for the PlayStation [11,271 articles]” href=”https://www.videogameschronicle.com/platforms/playstation/”>PlayStation debut of the Forza (Series) [144 articles]” href=”https://www.videogameschronicle.com/games/forza-series/”>Forza series, Forza Horizon 5 [121 articles]” href=”https://www.videogameschronicle.com/games/forza-series/forza-horizon-5/”>Forza Horizon 5.

This collection of Nintendo first-party updates marks the first time the firm has worked directly with the Kyoto-based platform holder, but Panic Button’s extensive experience with port work on the Nintendo Switch likely sealed Nintendo’s decision.

Following this announcement from Panic Button, the replies to the post were filled with Nintendo fans asking for Nintendo Switch 2 updates for the remaining marquee titles in the original console’s library that have yet to be upgraded.
