Today, the trial begins in Skopje for the tragic fire on March 16 this year at the Pulse disco in Kocani, in which 63 young people died, BNT reports.
State Prosecutor Ljubco Kocevski said that the prosecution is fully prepared for the case, on which about 15 prosecutors are working. In parallel with the trial, the investigation against employees of the Public Revenue Office continues.
The Helsinki Committee is monitoring the proceedings and insists on a public, fair and impartial trial, as well as full responsibility for all whose actions or inactions contributed to the tragedy.
Among the violations found are sealed windows, lack of smoke extraction system, non-working fans and absence of building control for more than 13 years.
