Watch Jeff Goldblum Serenade the TODAY Studio with His Lovely Piano Skills

Jeff Goldblum is a wizard on the piano.
The veteran actor showed off his ability to tickle the ivories when he appeared Nov. 19 alongside “Wicked: For Good” co-star Jonathan Bailey on TODAY.
Savannah Guthrie had been talking up Bailey, who was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2025 earlier this month, for his ability to play the clarinet, when she shifted the focus to Goldblum by asking if he could play them out to break as their segment ended.
“We got to end on a high note, literally,” she said. “Because Jeff Goldblum — accomplished jazz pianist.”

“Yes, extraordinaire,“ Bailey concurred.
Goldblum, who reprises his role in “Wicked: For Good” as The Wonderful Wizard of Oz from 2024’s Oscar-winning smash “Wicked,” was happy to oblige with the request, walking over to a keyboard where he sat down and put on am impromptu performance while he plugged the highly anticipated movie.
“We’ll buy a ticket to go see ‘Wicked’ on Friday,” he began singing as he played. “But first we’ll visit you, Savannah, today.”
Savannah and Bailey, who returns in “Wicked: For Good” as Fiyero, then walked over to Goldblum as he continued.

“The city’s clamor will never spoil, with dreams of two boys and a girl / We’ll turn Manhattan into an isle of joy,” he continued before finishing, as Savannah and Bailey cheered.
“We love you,” she said, while Bailey gave him a hug.
Goldblum’s piano prowess is par for the course in Bailey’s eyes. He gushed about his co-star, even though they don’t share much screen time in “Wicked: For Good,” with Goldblum noting they’re only in one scene together.
“They say never meet your heroes. But do if it’s Jeff Goldblum,” Bailey said. “It’s true.”
There’s sure to be plenty of more singing that you can see and hear for yourself when the highly anticipated “Wicked: For Good” opens in theaters Nov. 21.
