Rachel Allen’s son Joshua faces dangerous driving charge

Rachel Allen’s son Joshua has had a dangerous driving charge held over until the new year, it has emerged.

The case relates to an alleged incident which occurred in East Cork on 27 October and has been brought under Section 53 of the Road Traffic Act of 1961.

The 26-year-old is charged with driving in a manner considered to be dangerous to himself and the public.

Gardaí had appealed to Judge Colm Robers to adjourn the case, with Sergeant Majella O’Sullivan advising the court that the matter was still being finalised by gardaí, reports the Irish Independent.

Judge Roberts granted the application, and once gardaí have finalised their case, a file will be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions for further instruction.

Joshua, who is being represented in the matter by Don Ryan has now been ordered to appear before the court again on 5 February.

Over the past few years, Joshua, who is the great-grandson of Ballymaloe founder Myrtle Allen, has steadily been building a career as an MMA fighter.

His well-known mum Rachel has been one of his biggest supporters and has posted congratulatory messages when he has had a big win in the ring.

She also has two other children, Lucca and Scarlett Lily Allen, and when recently asked about retirement, indicated that all of her children have an interest in Ballymaloe.
