Stone Roses and Primal Scream bassist Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield has died aged 63.
The bassist’s brother Greg Mounfield announced his death on social media.
In a post on Facebook, he said: “It is with the heaviest hearts that I have to announce the sad passing of my brother Gary Mani Mounfield. RIP RKID.”
Mani’s brother went on to say he had been “reunited with his beautiful wife imelda”.
The musician from Crumpsall in Manchester joined The Stone Roses in 1979 and performed with the band until they disbanded in 1996.
The bassist’s death comes almost exactly two years after his wife Imelda Mounfield passed away on 18 November 2023.
