Unveiling TMU Station

Spring announcement becomes reality

The initial announcement of the station name change was made this past spring.

The decision supports improved wayfinding for TTC users and better reflects the surrounding neighbourhood and TMU’s place in the community.

More than 80 per cent of TMU’s 50,000 students, staff and faculty are commuters, bringing their extraordinary energy to campus and the downtown core.

Part of a broader transit partnership

The name change is part of a new partnership called the Transit Innovation Yard, announced earlier this year when the TTC agreed to rename Dundas Station to TMU Station.

The pilot project will tackle pressing transit challenges including route optimization, real-time service updates and improved journey planning. TMU researchers and start-ups will develop solutions to help create better transit services for Toronto, positioning the city as a leader in community-driven transit innovation.

The renamed TMU Station reinforces the connection between the university, the transit system and the communities we serve.

TorontoMet Today will keep the community informed as the project unfolds.
