Country Thunder Alberta organizers have announced they’re getting the party started early, moving the 10th edition of the popular three-day festival forward to late June.
Rescheduling the event to June 26 to 28 from Aug. 15 to 17 allows Country Thunder to “set the stage for an unforgettable celebration of country music,” said organizers in a Monday news release.
“Moving the festival to June lets us kick off a summer full of unforgettable music, honouring the history we’ve built here while giving fans an early chance to experience all the energy and excitement that makes Calgary such a special place for country music,” said Country Thunder CEO Troy Vollhoffer in a Monday statement.
Tickets already purchased tickets will be honoured for the new dates. Those unable to now attend can ask for a full refund by Nov. 24, through a refund form.
In early December, Country Thunder organizers are making their first announcement about next year’s performers.
In previous years, country stars such as Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Toby Keith, Keith Urban and Tim McGraw have taken the stage at the Calgary festival, which takes place at Confluence Park.
