It is no secret that the Indiana Pacers are missing their Superstar point guard, Tyrese Haliburton, this season.
There have been injuries to many of the team’s core players; however, this team is not where they were last season without its best player.
This season is almost considered a wash now for the Pacers, as they have only played 15 games.

Let’s take a look at what makes Tyrese Haliburton the most important player for not only Indiana, but the most important player in the entire NBA.
Pacers Missing Haliburton
Unless you have been living under a rock for the last couple of months, Tyrese Haliburton suffered an Achilles tear in Game 7 of the NBA Finals this summer, unfortunately, sidelining him for the entire 2025-2026 season.
The Pacers, as of last night, have one of the worst records in the NBA, being 2-13. They have played some teams close, like the OKC Thunder in the first game of the season, but they just can’t seem to get wins down the stretch like they did last season.
Like I mentioned before, they have had some significant injuries to bench guys and starters, which is really holding the team back. I don’t like when I hear the term “tank,” but it looks like, unfortunately, we are seeing it with the Indiana Pacers.
This road without Haliburton does not get easier this season, despite having Pascal Siakam play at an All-NBA level. The Pacers will be lucky if they win more than 30 games this season after this dreadful start.
Tyrese Haliburton’s Absence Is Being Felt
One of the most interesting stats that I have seen is the difference between the offensive production from last season and this season. The Pacers during the regular season last year had the number one offense in all of the NBA. This season, they are dead last in the NBA in offensive production. Coincidence? I think not.
Tyrese Haliburton would push the pace of the game to a whole new level. In all my years of watching NBA basketball, I have never seen a team push the pace the way the 2024-2025 Indiana Pacers did last season. That was because of Tyrese Haliburton.
Tyrese Haliburton was disrespected by his peers last season, winning the Most Overrated Player award. Haliburton went on to hit four game-winning/tying shots and led the Pacers all the way to Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Haliburton knew that he was risking his Achilles in that game, but he wanted to win so badly for his team and the whole state of Indiana.
It is a shame that the NBA and certain ESPN hosts put down Haliburton’s name during that entire playoff run. They know now how important that guy was for the Pacers organization and the NBA in general.
Tyrese Haliburton is the most important player in the NBA, and it is not remotely close.
