Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU are both back on NBC tonight with brand new episodes.
However, it will be a while before both shows have new episodes for viewers to enjoy, and we are revealing what’s going on.

If you don’t know, most network TV shows actually end up going on hiatus around late November/December for the holiday season, so this is a normal break in the schedule for the two dramas.
With Thanksgiving being next Thursday, it makes sense that NBC would not air any new episodes on that date.
And then both shows will be taking the entirety of December off as well.
So, when will they return?
NBC has confirmed that both shows will be back on Thursday (January 8) with all-new eps! NBC will also be airing 2026 Winter Olympics coverage throughout February, but it’s unclear if this will impact SVU and L&O in any way. Stay tuned as we learn more!
