NFL referee Adrian Hill carted off with injury during Bills-Texans game

Buffalo Bills players were dropping due to injury against the Houston Texans on Thursday. Then the referee was carted off the field.
Adrian Hill grabbed his right leg while in the end zone during a punt midway through the third quarter. Hill was not conducted when he was hurt and he was helped off the field by members of the Texans’ training staff.
Hill was carted to the locker room.
Amazon Prime referee analyst Terry McAulay said that the umpire will take Hill’s place. The umpire usually watches one side of the offensive line but with Hill out will have to work the entire offensive line plus any potential roughing the passer infractions.
Hill earned electrical and software engineering degrees from the University at Buffalo and a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University. He was hired by the NFL in 2010 and is in his 16th season with the league. Hill was promoted to referee in 2019.
Hill was the Engineer of the Year by the by the Baltimore chapter of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2006.
