Dustin Johnson has update for LIV Golf teammates after worst season in decade

The former world No. 1 told Flushing It that his 4Aces lineup will remain the same for the upcoming season, with Patrick Reed, Harold Varner III, and Thomas Pieters returning to the team, reports the Mirror US.
Reed, a past Masters champion, had already secured his spot on the roster after finishing seventh in the LIV standings this year. Pieters and Varner also finished in the top 24 in the rankings, earning them the right to stay with their team unless they were traded.
Despite finishing seventh in the Team Championship, Johnson has decided to maintain consistency within his team rather than making drastic changes. Johnson attributes his recent struggles to problems with his tee shots.
“I won early in the last year or last season in Vegas. But since then, I’ve really struggled with the driver, which is generally the best part of my game,” he admitted.
“And so, obviously, that puts a lot of pressure on the other parts of your game. The weeks I drive it well, I play well, I’ll have a chance to win. Yeah. But, overall, the last pretty much two years, I’ve just struggled with the driver.”
Despite his recent performance, Johnson remains optimistic about the future. “I feel like the game’s been in good form,” he said.
“Obviously, my score doesn’t really reflect that. I really played well towards the end of the year. This week I played much better than my score. I made zero putts. But I feel like the game’s in really good form and it will be too, heading into next season.”
LIV is preparing for a significant offseason with many roster changes after six players were relegated in August. Cleeks Golf Club has announced its first new addition, Victor Perez, who is joining from the PGA Tour.
