Got plans for the weekend? How about travel before Thanksgiving? Specifics here!

We have made it to the weekend! There is a lot to plan ahead for. Whether it is having fun this weekend or getting ready for the Thanksgiving holiday or both, I’ve got a look ahead to see what’s next locally!

Here are our next weather makers:

Temperatures will be seasonably chilly and cooler than Friday for this weekend. I am expecting leftover cloud cover Saturday to hopefully give way to some intervals of sunshine. A new system will be moving across the area on Sunday. It will bring new cloud coverage and some spotty light rain and light wet snow showers.

As shown above, more fast-moving changes occur between Monday and Wednesday before noticeably colder weather begins for Thanksgiving Day and beyond.

At this stage, it appears that lake effect snow should begin east or east-northeast of Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. This will mean that most of the strongest lake effect snow will occur north of the immediate CNY area.

However, these bands will likely migrate southward somewhat and wobble north and south through the holiday weekend. It is way too early to get specific about exact accumulations and intensities of the snow bands. Stay tuned for updates!

Are you travelling either this weekend or sometime between now and Thanksgiving?
