Kate Hudson’s Heartfelt Birthday Tribute to Mom Goldie Hawn Shows Her Sparkling Grandma Era
Kate Hudson is celebrating her iconic mom Goldie Hawn on her birthday today, and it’s clear to see the actress is loving her grandma era. In new pictures, the Almost Famous star honored her mom and all the wonderful moments she’s spent with her grandchildren over the years.
“🎂Birthday Love🎂,” Hudson captioned the post on Instagram. “To distill half of her life that I’ve known into a single caption feels impossible. I have been the lucky recipient of novels of love and wisdom from her. She is truly extraordinary and as I celebrate her everyday, today we all get to share in it!”

Aww! The pictures Hudson shared included several throwbacks of Hawn throughout the years, as well as Hawn now with several of her grandchildren. In one, she hugs Rani, who’s holding a huge bouquet of roses after a dance recital. In another, she smiles as she drives a golf cart with Hudson and Rani. She runs with her babies, hangs out at the beach, and always has a huge smile on her face. It’s so cute, we love it!

The Overboard actress is a grandma to Hudson’s kids Ryder, 21, Bingham, 14, and Rani, 7; her son Oliver Hudson’s kids Wilder, 18, Bodhi, 15, and Rio, 12; and her son Wyatt Russell’s two kids Buddy, 4, and Boone, 1.
In a previous interview with Variety, the First Wives Club star opened up about the life lessons she wants to pass to her grandkids. “You’ve got to work for a living, stay compassionate and stay realistic,” she told the outlet. “And I’m passing that on because that was what my father taught me: Stay in reality. Don’t get taken away with everything. The rest of it is up to them.”
She added that she will do her best to let her grandkids figure things out. “Being there for them and knowing that they’re going to have to work stuff out themselves, as hard as it is,” she continued.
