The Texas Tech basketball team has its second Top-15 matchup in as many weeks as the 15th-ranked Red Raiders are set to take on No. 1 Purdue in the finals of the Baha Mar Championship on Friday.
The Red Raiders (4-1) and Boilermakers (5-0) each had chaotic openers in their games Thursday before taking down Wake Forest and Memphis, respectively. Texas Tech won 84-83 in the night cap after Purdue downed Memphis 80-71, each doing so in comeback fashion.
Texas Tech fell on the road at No. 11 Illinois last week while Purdue has a road win at No. 8 Alabama on its resume thus far. The game will feature two of top returning players in the country in All-Americans JT Toppin for Texas Tech and Braden Smith for Purdue.
