Memphis basketball’s Dug McDaniel gets technical foul vs. No. 1 Purdue

NASSAU, Bahamas – Memphis basketball point guard Dug McDaniel got whistled for a technical foul in the first half against No. 1 Purdue on Nov. 20 at the Baha Mar Championship.

With 6:47 left in the first half, the Tigers were trailing the Boilermakers 21-20. That’s when McDaniel was whistled for a Class A technical foul.

McDaniel reacted animatedly, clearly disagreeing with the call. It was not immediately apparent what the fourth-year senior did to draw the whistle.

Purdue’s Fletcher Loyer was sent to the free throw line, and he made both to extend his team’s lead to 23-20.

It’s the first technical foul of the season for the Tigers.

McDaniel is tied for second on the team in scoring at 10.7 points per game.
