Memphis player gets in Purdue’s Oscar Cluff’s face, gets technical and fouls out

NASSAU, Bahamas — An already chippy game between Purdue basketball and Memphis at the Baha Mar Championships almost spilled over into something more in the second half.
Boilermakers center Oscar Cluff bumped into Memphis’ Aaron Bradshaw from behind and knocked him over face-first in the lane with about eight minutes left in the half. Bradshaw was slow to get up, prompting the officials to whistle the clock to stop.
When Bradshaw eventually stood, he immediately lunged toward Cluff and screamed in his face. Both teams were separated before anything else happened.
The officials conferred and assessed Bradshaw a technical, which disqualified him with five fouls. Fletcher Loyer made both free throws to tie the score 61-61.
The game has been a physical and at times heated one. Memphis guard Dug McDaniel was whistled for a technical foul in the first half for bumping into Fletcher Loyer. Trey Kaufman-Renn was assessed a technical late in the first half for expressing displeasure after picking up his second personal foul.
