North Melbourne have won game number 26 in a row and this one has secured a place in the AFLW grand final and a home one at that.

Melbourne pushed the Roos to the brink here at Ikon Park before the class and quality of Irish star Blaithin Bogue and champion Jaz Garner kicked them head with vital goals.

Bogue was still developing as an AFLW player last year, so didn’t play a game for the Roos, but she has been a star this campaign.

Kate Hore and Tayla Harris were among the best for the Demons who are a team on the rise, but on this day they just weren’t good enough to beat the Roos in the final term.

Now we wait to see who will face the Roos in the grand final at Ikon Park next weekend with Brisbane and Carlton playing in Brisbane tonight in the other preliminary final.
