Marco Sturm Heaps Praise On ‘Very Dangerous’ Bruins Star

The Boston Bruins suffered a 4-3 road loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday.
Boston struggled out of the gates as the Ducks got out to a 2-0 lead before Morgan Geekie scored on the power play. Geekie then scored again to tie the game 3-3, and although the Ducks won 4-3, Bruins head coach Marco Sturm was impressed with the star forward’s play.
”He’s a very dangerous guy,” Sturm said of Geekie, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “Has a great release, is dangerous on the power play. There is a reason why he scores a lot of goals, that’s for sure.”
Geekie now has 14 goals on the season as he tied Nathan MacKinnon and Leon Draisaitl for the NHL lead.
It’s been a stellar season for Geekie, who said he’s just been focusing on the team’s game plan each and every night.

”Just a direct approach. Two plays were kind of right off the faceoff,” Geekie said. “Just kind of being predictable. I think that’s been a goal of ours all year, and try to stick to that game plan.”
Although Geekie had another stellar game, it wasn’t enough for the Bruins to get the win. With the loss, Boston fell to 12-10-0 on the season and is now on a two-game losing streak.
The Bruins will continue their road trip on Friday against the Los Angeles Kings at 10:30 p.m. ET.
