Lauren Allan would ghost in behind the defence, beating Khamis to the ball as she nodded it into the back of the net. 1-0 Jets, and a goal in her milestone match.

After conceding, the Wanderers would build some momentum, with Poppie Hook’s having back to back efforts either blocked or narrowly missed. Kelli Brown, starting for the Jets for the first time, would come close to doubling the lead, but a smart shot from Khamis would deny her the goal.

Just before the break, Anna Leat would deny Holly Caspers shot from distance, keeping the score at 1-0 to the Jets as the half time whistle came.

The second half would bring plenty more end to end action, as the Jets looked for more breathing room, whilst the Wanderers searched desperately for an equaliser. Stephen Hoyle would go to his bench in the 69th minute, with Kelli Brown, Tash Prior and Lauren Allan coming off, Alexis Collins, Zoe Karipidis and Olivia Page replacing them.

Melina Ayres would be denied a wonder strike from distance, with Khamis making a fantastic save to keep the long ranger out. Ayres again would come close to the spectacular, as her bicycle kick would also be pushed away by the Wanderers Custodian. Claire Adams and India Breier would both be brought on, replacing Melina and Josie Allan respectively.

The Wanderers would throw the kitchen sink at the Jets as they tried to earn a point from the match, but the Jets would defend resolutely to deny them. The crowd erupted at full time, with the Jets securing their second win of the season and their first clean sheet.
