Boomtown Chapter 5: Wednesday entry tickets have sold out

9
Standard Wednesday entry tickets for Boomtown 2026 have officially sold out, organisers confirmed this afternoon. The rapid sell-out follows the immediate impact of the “Chapter 5: Radical Redesign” line-up announcement, which features Madness, Scissor Sisters, and Kneecap leading a genre-defying bill.
Festival-goers hoping to start the party early on Wednesday, 12th August 2026, now have only one remaining option: purchasing a Wednesday Public Transport Ticket. According to the official ticket portal, these are currently priced at £375.00 (+ booking fee) and are in their final availability phase. Once these are gone, entry will be restricted to Thursday onwards.
Ticket Availability & Pricing Update
With demand surging, ticket tiers are moving quickly. While standard Wednesday entry is gone (previously priced at £405.00 in Phase 5), significant savings are still available for those willing to arrive a day later or travel via green transport options.
Current Ticket Prices (as of Nov 21, 2025):
- Wednesday Public Transport Entry: £375.00 (+ £10 BF) – Last remaining Wednesday option
- Thursday Entry (Phase 4): £345.00 (+ £10 BF)
- Thursday Public Transport (Phase 3): £305.00 (+ £10 BF) – Cheapest entry option
Instalment plans remain available for all active ticket types, with initial deposits ranging from approximately £38 to £50, making the cost more manageable over the coming months.

A “Radical Redesign” Drives Demand
The surge in sales comes directly off the back of the “Chapter 5: Radical Redesign” launch. The festival has unveiled its most diverse lineup to date, moving decisively to broaden its musical horizons beyond its bass-heavy reputation.
Leading the charge are ska legends Madness, returning to the festival after a decade, and New York glam-pop icons Scissor Sisters. They are joined by the politically charged Belfast hip-hop trio Kneecap, electronic heavyweights Skrillex and Four Tet, and dance pioneers Faithless, who are celebrating their 30th anniversary.
“While bass music has dominated in recent years and will always be at our core, we’re making a conscious move to keep Boomtown musically diverse and unpredictable,” said Boomtown co-founder Luke Mitchell. “Expect more live bands and more cross-genre adventures.”
This creative reset extends to the festival’s physical infrastructure. In a move celebrated by long-time fans, the iconic Lion’s Den stage will return to its original home in the Temple Valley amphitheatre. Meanwhile, the Hydro XL stage will double in size, showcasing a hydrogen-powered production that underscores the festival’s commitment to sustainability.
Accommodation & Upgrades
For those looking to upgrade their camping experience, Camp Orchid resident wristbands are available for £110, offering access to upgraded facilities. Luxury options are also on sale, with pre-pitched Skylark accommodation ranging from £666 for a Luxury Tipi to £957 for a Premium Bell Tent sleeping four.
Fan Reaction & Analysis
The reaction to the new direction has been intense. While some purists have expressed concern over the shift away from bass dominance, the general sentiment has been one of excitement for a “return to roots” that prioritises immersive world-building and live performance.
Discussion online reflects this mix of nostalgia and anticipation. As noted in recent commentary, the redesign is seen by many as a necessary evolution to recapture the “city in the woods” magic that defined early chapters, moving away from the repetitive stage-hopping that some attendees felt had crept in post-pandemic.
With over 50% of tickets already sold prior to today’s sell-out announcement, the remaining tiers are expected to clear quickly. Fans are advised to secure Public Transport tickets promptly if they wish to guarantee their spot in the newly reimagined city.
Boomtown Chapter 5: Radical Redesign takes place at the Matterley Estate, Hampshire, from 12th–16th August 2026.
