George Clooney Is “Welcome” To Join HBO Max’s ‘The Pitt’

George Clooney recently teased that he’d join his former colleague Noah Wyle’s latest medical drama series The Pitt “in a heartbeat”.
Clooney and Wyle starred together on NBC medical drama ER for a number of years and HBO Max is preparing to launch the second season of The Pitt in January.
HBO boss Casey Bloys admitted that he would be happy for a reunion to happen. Speaking at a press presentation in New York, Bloys admitted that he saw Clooney’s comments but wasn’t sure if there’s been any formal conversations inviting Clooney to the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.
“Sure, he’s welcome,” Bloys said. “I don’t know if that was a real conversation or not, but sure.”
Clooney told Entertainment Tonight, while promoting his latest Netflix movie Jay Kelly, “I’d do [The Pitt] in a heartbeat.” But the Good Luck, and Good Night star admitted that he’d not actually spoken to Wyle about appearing. “It is his show. I don’t want to interrupt. But I am deeply proud of him, if I’m allowed to be proud of him.”
It was Clooney’s latest comments praising the 15-part series, which was created by R. Scott Gemmill and exec produced by Wyle and ER exec producer John Wells.
Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers in June, Clooney said he and Wyle have “been really dear friends since we did the pilot [for ER]. “He is just the most honorable, talented young man. I get to say [that] because I’m an old man and I cannot be happier for his success on the show. The show is just a beautiful show, and he does just a great job with it,” he added.
