Bundesliga weekend predictions, odds & best tips: Dominant Bayern can resume winning ways

Bayern Munich’s 16-match winning run came to an end with a 2-2 draw at Union Berlin prior to the international break and Vincent Kompany’s team will be eager to regain the winning thread when Freiburg visit the Allianz on Saturday.
The German champions still boast a six-point lead to second-placed Leipzig, who host Werder Bremen the following afternoon.
Bundesliga predictions & tips for this weekend’s matches
Mainz vs Hoffenheim
Kick-off: 7.30pm Friday
Mainz have suffered six defeats in their last eight Bundesliga games and have won just once in the league all season, so it is difficult to see them getting anything from their home match against Hoffenheim. The visitors have won their last four league matches and can continue to climb the table.
Prediction: Hoffenheim
Heidenheim vs Borussia Monchengladbach
Kick-off: 2.30pm Saturday
There looks a strong chance there will be goals in this clash. All but two of Heidenheim’s last seven league games have featured at least three goals and that statistic is applicable to all of Borussia Monchengladbach’s last four outings, so we can expect plenty of entertainment.
Prediction: Over 2.5 goals
Augsburg vs Hamburg
Kick-off: 2.30pm Saturday
Hamburg have not won in four league outings but they should be confident of stopping the rot on Saturday’s trip to Augsburg. The hosts have conceded ten goals in their last three games and they could be in for a difficult afternoon.
Prediction: Hamburg
Borussia Dortmund vs Stuttgart
Kick-off: 2.30pm Saturday
Borussia Dortmund have won nine of their last ten Bundesliga matches but opponents Stuttgart are also having a decent campaign. The visitors have won six of their last seven and will be positive, so there looks a strong chance there will be plenty of goals.
Prediction: Over 2.5 goals
Wolfsburg vs Bayer Leverkusen
Kick-off: 2.30pm Saturday
This should be a routine victory for Bayer Leverkusen, who have won five of their last six league games, with the exception being a 3-0 loss to champions Bayern Munich. Wolfsburg have lost six of their last seven and will do well to get anything from this difficult assignment.
Prediction: Bayer Leverkusen
Bayern Munich vs Freiburg
Kick-off: 2.30pm Saturday
Bayern Munich have won six of their last seven home league games to nil and should be able to continue that sequence against Freiburg. The visitors have failed to score in their last three away matches in the Bundesliga, which is hardly ideal preparation for a trip to the Allianz Arena.
Prediction: Bayern Munich to win to nil
Cologne vs Eintracht Frankfurt
Kick-off: 5.30pm Saturday
Both teams look set to score when Frankfurt head to Cologne this weekend. The hosts have kept only three clean sheets in their last 20 Bundesliga games while there have been 42 goals in Eintracht Frankfurt’s ten league matches this term.
Prediction: Both teams to score
RB Leipzig vs Werder Bremen
Kick-off: 2.30pm Sunday
There looks scope for there to be plenty of goals in this one. Leipzig’s last five matches have all featured at least three goals and the same applies to four of the five Bundesliga matches Werder Bremen have played on the road this season.
Prediction: Over 2.5 goals
St Pauli vs Union Berlin
Kick-off: 4.30pm Sunday
St Pauli have lost three of their last four Bundesliga matches by two or more goals and it’s eight Bundesliga games since they last recorded a shutout. This looks a good opportunity for Union Berlin to end a three-game winless run as they were close to beating Bayern Munich last time out.
Prediction: Union Berlin
