How much is Texas A&M paying Samford? The answer might surprise you

Saturday presents an opportunity for schools who play in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). That includes the Samford Bulldogs who travel to College Station, TX to face the No. 3 ranked Texas A&M Aggies.
With the FCS vs. Power 4 matchups comes a hefty payday for the FCS schools, however, the Bulldogs may not get as big of a payday as schools the Aggies will have faced this season.
According to the Austin American Statesman, Texas A&M will be paying $3.705 million to their non-conference opponents they’ll welcome to field. Samford will be paid the least, a total of $550,000 for their visit to Kyle Field on Saturday. UTSA was paid $1.5 million, and Utah State was paid $1.65 million for their game.
Samford and Texas A&M kickoff at 11 a.m. on SEC Network+.
