GUN ATTACK Gun Attack Near Sutton Coldfield Lanes: Five Charged

A man in his 30s was shot near The Lanes Shopping Centre in Sutton Coldfield around 7:30am on Friday, October 24. Fortunately, his injuries are not life-threatening, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Five Arrested and Charged in Shooting Incident

Police swiftly arrested five suspects now facing serious charges, including attempted murder and conspiracy to murder. Two suspects hail from the Bexley area:

  • Terrence Regis, 43, from Erith Road, Belvedere – charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to murder, robbery, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
  • Carly Smith, 36, no fixed address but believed from Bexley – charged with conspiracy to murder.
  • Kirstie Gavin, 32, of James Street, Gillingham – charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to murder.
  • Adrian Hylton, 43, Godstone Road, St Margarets, Richmond – charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to murder, robbery, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
  • Dwaine Patterson, 46, Wharfside Street, Birmingham – charged with conspiracy to murder.

All five appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court and have been remanded in custody pending a hearing at Birmingham Crown Court next month.

Police Speak Out: Investigation Continues

“These charges are a significant step forward in what has been a complex and demanding investigation,” said Detective Inspector Stacey Follows of the West Midlands Major Crime Unit. “Dedicated officers have worked around the clock since this happened to make arrests and secure charges. We’re also grateful for support from police forces outside West Midlands.”

“Our investigation is ongoing. We urge anyone with information who hasn’t yet come forward to get in touch.”
