Six “Thrones” Spin-Offs Still In Development

HBO
Yesterday, HBO confirmed that both “House of the Dragon” and “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” had been renewed for fourth and second seasons, respectively.
Previously, it had been hinted that the fourth season of ‘Dragon’ might be its last, but that may no longer be the case, as there was no mention yesterday that it would be the final one.
Now, during a recent interview with Spanish outlet Los Siete Reinos, the IP’s creator George R. R. Martin has revealed that there are currently five or six more “Game of Thrones” spin-off series in development at HBO:
“Aside from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon, there are other Game of Thrones spin-off projects in development. Most are prequels. There are several in development, maybe five or six shows. And I’m not developing them alone, I’m working with other people. Yes, there are some sequels.”
Years ago before ‘Dragon’ went to air, a pilot for another”Thrones” spin-off was shot but never released or picked up to series. Multiple spin-offs were also in development at that time, but some have since fallen by the wayside.
One project still believed to be in development but unlikely to move is the “10,000 Ships” one which playwright Eboni Booth was working on last year. Mattson Tomlin is developing the one dubbed “Aegon’s Conquest” while animated ones based on “The Sea Snake” and “The Golden Empire” were also in development.
