Dianne Buswell has shared an adorable note she wrote to her mum more than 20 years ago as she prepares to welcome her first child into the world.
The Strictly Come Dancing star is expecting her first child with her boyfriend, Joe Sugg. It was in September they took to Instagram with a video announcing their special news.
Fans of the hit dance show will recall that the pair met back in 2018 when they were paired together for the BBC One dance contest that year, making it all the way to the final.
In their adorable announcement video, the parents-to-be could be seen in a clip standing behind a wooden easel with paint and paintbrushes as they got to work on their masterpiece.
The playful clip, set to the iconic Elton John track, Tiny Dancer, then saw the couple painting, before they turned the canvas around to reveal three stick figures – one of Dianne, one of Joe and a baby in the middle of them.
Alongside the post, originally shared by Joe and reposted by Dianne, he wrote: “Our little baby boy [heart emoji]. We cannot wait to meet you,” and they were quickly flooded with congratulatory messages from Dianne’s Strictly co-stars, famous pals, and their fans.
Now, Dianne is preparing to perform in Blackpool as part of Strictly’s annual special. And while it’s not with a celebrity partner this year, after Neighbours star Stefan Dennis had to withdraw from the competition last month due to injury, she’s emotionally admitted she won’t be alone.

Taking to Instagram ahead of the special episode in Blackpool’s famous Tower Ballroom, she shared a picture of a letter she wrote to her mum at around 10-year-old and it read: “To my dear mummy I never just get to tell you how much I love you . You are so important to me and you do so much for me.
“You think I don’t appreciate it but believe me I do . Thank you very much for letting me go to Melbourne I can’t wait I will dance the best ever . I know I cost you a lot of money but just remember that I appreciate it . I love it when you take me to Perth because I think I have the best and prettiest mum out of all of them.
“And I love doing things with you because I am proud that you are my mum and I wouldn’t trade you for the world not even Britney Spears.”
The Australian professional dancer then went on to explain: “Written by me to my mum from the first time she took me on a plane to dance in a competition in Melbourne the Australian championships . My juvenile days [face holding back tears emoji]. I saw this letter I wrote to my mum in my pictures and it made me realise wow I am going to be a mum soon.
“I truly hope he will love me just as much as I love my mum . Also I can’t belive I get to dance with him in my belly on the Blackpool floor which is extremely special. [face holding back tears and heart emojis]. I also hope my son wouldn’t want to trade me for Britney Spears either [crying laughing emojis] @rinabuswell.”
