Actress Jamie Lee Curtis revealed which movie on her lengthy resume she regretted starring in.
After the massive success of her cult classic horror film Halloween, the 65-year-old daughter of Hollywood’s legendary actors, Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis, shot to fame and has continued to enjoy success since then. Over the years Jamie has been honored for work, including winning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 2022 action-drama, Everything Everywhere All at Once.
While many of the projects Jamie has been involved in were successful, such as the Halloween film franchise, there is one that she has regrets about, since she considered it a “piece of s–t” movie.

That production was the 1999 film Virus. Virus is a science fiction film about extraterrestrial beings with a goal of transforming the human race into cyborgs.
Express reported in 2010 that Jamie had blasted Virus to the news outlet, the World Entertainment News Network.
“That’s a piece of s- -t movie. It’s an unbelievably bad movie; just bad from the bottom,” Jamie told the World Entertainment News Network of Virus at the time.

“There’s a scene where I’m running away from this alien and I actually hide under the stairs. I come down some stairs and then duck up underneath them and I’m quivering and this big thing comes down the stairs and I’m freaking hiding under the stairs!” she continued.
The Freaky Friday franchise alum added what trouble her, joking that the alien was “something that can open walls of steel” but her character was “hiding under stairs!”

Additionally, Jamie noted that the movie was “maybe the only time” she knew “something was just bad and there was nothing” that could be done about it.
She ended with: “I just do the best I can and there have been bad movies that have been wildly successful and great movies that have tanked, so you never know. It was an independent precursor to all of these Marvel comics movies. I thought maybe that fan base would show up for it, but no.”

Jamie had many movies after Virus that were more enjoyable for her such as the 2003 film Freaky Friday, which finally got its much-awaited sequel Freakier Friday that premiered in August 2025. Even though Virus might be a blip in Jamie’s career, it hasn’t seemed to affect it in the slightest.
