REACTION: Breaking down LSU football’s win over Arkansas

LSU football edged Arkansas in the Battle for the Golden Boot. Here’s our reaction to the Tigers’ win.

BATON ROUGE — LSU football is looking for Week 13 of the college football season to be another momentum booster.

After the Tigers (6-4, 2-4 SEC) escaped with a 23-22 victory over Arkansas last week, this week’s tilt vs. Western Kentucky is a chance to build off that win. With Garrett Nussmeier likely out for this game, quarterback Michal Van Buren Jr. will be the guy, and he’ll be looking for a fast start against the Hilltoppers.

Defense will be the story of the game though as it’s been the Tigers strong spot all this season. This week they’ll look to contain Western Kentucky’s quarterback Rodney Tisdale Jr. Since having the redshirt freshman at the helm of their offense, the Hilltoppers (8-2, 6-1 C-USA) are on a three-game winning streak they aren’t looking to snap once inside Death Valley.

The Tigers are hoping otherwise though as they look snag their seventh win of the season before resuming Southeastern Conference play on the road next week.
