Tracy Pollan, now 65, has been a familiar face since the ’80s — and though she has had numerous roles on the small screen, she might be best known as the wife of actor Michael J. Fox. This year, she is returning to TV in a brand-new Hallmark movie, Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story, premiering on November 22, 2025 on the Hallmark Channel at 8/7c. It is a rare appearance for the actress, who has spent the past couple of decades choosing projects selectively while she helps her husband through his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis. So, what has she been up to in recent years?

How did Tracy Pollan begin acting?

Pollan was born on June 22, 1960, in Long Island and grew up in Woodbury before attending the Dalton School in Manhattan. She trained at the Lee Strasberg Institute, and her earliest work included stage roles and small television roles.

Her career changed almost overnight when she joined Family Ties in 1985 as Ellen Reed, the love interest of Alex P. Keaton. What began as a short arc became one of the show’s most memorable relationships and introduced her to co-star Michael J. Fox, who would later become her husband.

After leaving Family Ties, Pollan continued to work steadily throughout the ’80s and ’90s, appearing in television films, miniseries and guest roles. She earned an Emmy nomination in 2000 for her appearance on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and went on to star in The Kennedys of Massachusetts, First to Die and other TV dramas.

However, now the kids are all grown up, and Pollan seems to be returning to work. Her new film, Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story, follows the world of Buffalo football fandom during the holidays, with lots of romance, of course.
