Tom Wilson takes on 6’9 Curtis Douglas.

Washington Capitals enforcer Tom Wilson has shown a willingness to take on all customers throughout his National Hockey League career and on Saturday night he proved that once again when he felled a giant on the ice.
Wilson and the Capitals welcomed the Tampa Bay Lightning to Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. and it would be towards the end of that game’s second period that Wilson would be faced with a tall task, literally.
There was plenty of rough stuff going on when Wilson collided with Lightning forward Curtis Douglas in front of the Lightning net. The two men, who were away from the puck at the time, began pushing and shoving but it looked like nothing would come of it as Wilson moved to skate away. Douglas however would grab Wilson by the arm and prevent him from doing so, challenging him to drop the gloves in the process.
Although Douglas is a huge man coming in at a towering 6’9 and 242 lbs, Wilson was more than willing to dance and would even come to make Douglas regret his decision to pull the Capitals enforcer back in. Wilson landed the better of the shots before muscling Douglas down to the ice where Wilson would land a few more shots to Douglas’ head for good measure.
Douglas did not look pleased after those extra shots, and I can’t say that I blame him, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he seeks a measure of revenge before this one is over. Here is a look at the replay:
