Three Changes For Pink-Ball Shield Squad

Rising stars Jayden Goodwin, Sam Fanning and Albert Esterhuysen have been included in Western Australia’s 13-man Sheffield Shield squad to take on South Australia in a day-night pink-ball match starting Saturday 22 November at Adelaide Oval.

With Cameron Green and Josh Inglis unavailable due to being in Australia’s NRMA Insurance West Test squad, a spot at the top of the order has opened for Goodwin or Fanning to step in to.

With 2025-26 Sheffield Shield leading wicket taker Matt Kelly rested, selectors have recalled Esterhuysen to the squad, fresh from taking seven first innings wickets in a second XI game against Victoria earlier this week.

The two sides, who played out a hard-fought draw at the WACA Ground last month, will again compete for the Rod Marsh Cup.

A dramatic one-wicket win over second-placed Queensland saw WA climb to third on the Sheffield Shield table, just five points off the Bulls.
