Kenny Omega Aiming To ‘Follow In Footsteps’ Of AEW Star In Non-Wrestling Role

AEW
Kenny Omega has described an AEW star’s recent role in a video game as “very inspirational”, revealing his own ambitions to replicate his achievement.
Released in February 2025, SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios’ ‘Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii’ featured AEW star Samoa Joe as one of the game’s antagonists – with the “Samoan Submission Machine” taking up the role of Raymond Law.
With Joe lending both his likeness and voice to the role, known video game and Like A Dragon fan Kenny Omega has hailed Joe’s role in the game, while also revealing his own ambitions to star in a non-wrestling video game in the future.
Speaking with SHAK Wrestling, Omega said:
“Samoa Joe being in that game is very inspirational and I hope to one day follow in his footsteps and have a fully fleshed out character that isn’t Kenny Omega that’s in a game.
“Whether I’m Kenny Omega in a game, not a wrestling game, I could be Tyson Smith I could be whoever but it’d be cool. That’s one of my goals outside of wrestling that I hope to achieve.”

Omega previously appeared in the remake of 2023’s Like A Dragon: Ishin, however, his role was as a special ‘Trooper Card’ players could acquire and use in the game, rather than a designated role of his own.
