Las Vegas F1 Grand Prix LIVE: Flawless Verstappen wins in Sin City while Oscar Piastri settles for fourth

That was a pretty hectic opening lap, so let’s take a closer look.

Lando Norris tried to cut Verstappen off, but he overshot the corner and ended up going wide, allowing the Dutchman to snatch first place.

Meanwhile, there was chaos and calamity further down the grid. Piastri and Lawson banged wheels on the opening lap, they are both under investigation from the stewards.

Lawson seems to have suffered significant damage to his wing, while Piastri looks OK.

There’s a lot of debris on the track so a virtual safety car has been called.

Lance Stroll also had an incident on the first lap after a collision with Gabriel Bortoleto. Stroll is now out of the race.
