Guy Fieri’s fans are sending love his way this week after he shared a heartbreaking post to Instagram on Wednesday.
“Happy 83rd birthday to my hero,” Fieri wrote alongside a photo of his family seated at a table. “My dad ‘Jamps.’ We miss you everyday and appreciate all the life lessons and guidance. Happy birthday wise old owl!!!”
The Food Network star’s father, Jim Ferry, died back on Jan. 27, 2024 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Fans were quick to flood his timeline with support.
“Happy Heavnely Birthday to your dad!” one person replied. “Cherish all the beautiful memories.”
“Praying for you and your family,” another wrote.
“Hoping you have the happiest of birthday in Heaven Mr. Fieri!!!” another wrote.
A handful of followers also commented on how much they believe that Fieri’s son, Hunter, looks like his grandfather.
Fieri, who is 57, discussed his father’s cancer battle prior to his death.
“He’s been a great advocate for people that have gone through it,” Fieri told People Magazine in 2022. “Because there’s not a lot of knowledge about it. It’s not a great success rate. But I think you got to live every single day. That’s the biggest thing, is you never know what tomorrow’s going to bring.”
Jim Ferry was not the first person in Fieri’s family who died after battling cancer. Hi sister, Jules, died from melanoma in 211, and he and his wife raised her son, Jules, who was 11 at the time.
