Team news: Hincapie partners Saliba in defence

Piero Hincapie starts the north London derby alongside William Saliba in the heart of the defence.

It’s his first Premier League start after arriving from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer – he’s made two substitute appearances for us in the league so far, though did start our most recent Champions League match, at left back.

He comes in for Gabriel Magalhaes, who picked up an injury during the international break, and so misses his first Premier League game of the season.

Other than that, it’s the same starting XI that drew against Sunderland two weeks ago, but Mikel Arteta is able to welcome back two players from injury among the substitutes. Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli are both fit enough to be included on the bench.

So Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber also start in defence, with David Raya continuing in goal.

The midfield consists of Martin Zubimendi, Declan Rice and Eberechi Eze – Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka are on the wings with Mikel Merino once again leading the line up front.

Our visitors also drew 2-2 in their last match, and make five changes from that team. In come Kevin Danso, Mohammed Kudus, Destiny Udogie, Rodrigo Bentancur and Wilson Odobert. Out go Pedro Porro, Xavi Simons, Brennan Johnson, Pape Matar Sarr and Randal Kolo Muani.
