What to know: Division I NCAA Cross Country Championship

COLUMBIA – The Division I NCAA Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Mizzou for the first time on Saturday, Nov. 22.

The competition will be held at Gans Creek Country Course, located at 3100 E. Gans Road.

While this is the first time the national championship is being held at Gans Creek, several other cross country competitions have been held in Columbia in recent years, including the 2024 NAIA national championship and the 2022 NCAA Midwest Regional.

Mizzou’s women’s team will compete for the title in Saturday’s race’s however, the men’s team did not qualify.

The women’s race will begin at 9:20 a.m. The men’s race begins at 10:10 a.m. Both races will be broadcast live on ESPNU.

For those wishing to attend the race’s parking must be purchased online in advance. No parking will be available for purchase on race day.

On-site parking at Gans Creek Cross Country Course is reserved for officials and small team vehicles. Large team vehicles will park at the Columbia Sports Fieldhouse.

Each parking lot (except on-site and green) will have shuttles running to and from the Gans Creek Cross Country Course beginning at 6:30 a.m. and ending at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Columbia residents are encouraged to take alternate routes to avoid the event area, specifically along Gans Road. Additionally, the Columbia Police Department will be on-site to direct traffic and ensure pedestrian safety.
