I’m A Celebrity star Martin Kemp has been married to wife Shirlie for almost four decades and the couple share two children together

I’m A Celebrity’s Martin Kemp offered a touching glimpse into his marriage as he revealed the devastating reason his wife faced difficulties conceiving.
The musician and actor, 64, has been wed to WHAM! singer Shirlie Kemp for nearly four decades. The pair exchanged vows in 1988 on the Caribbean island of St Lucia, though they later found out their legal documentation wasn’t properly sorted.
Martin has previously discussed why that particular day held such significance for them both, reports the Daily Star.
During Sunday evening’s instalment of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Martin revealed how his spouse battled to fall pregnant due to her fight with endometriosis.
Yet following years of heartache, he disclosed that they conceived their firstborn Harleymoon on their wedding night.

In a touching exchange, Martin discussed his relationship after Vogue Williams mentioned being wed to Spencer Matthews for eight years.
He said: “I got married in St Lucia on a clifftop overlooking the Caribbean with just three people.” He went on to joke: “If you looked into it more, you’d find we’re not married.”
Offering a glimpse into how he and Shirlie have remained together for almost four decades, he explained: “Shirlie is everything for me, everything I do in my life, I do it for her.”
However, he also revealed that prior to their nuptials, whilst Shirlie was attempting to conceive, she encountered challenges due to endometriosis.

“Then, on the night we got married – kaboom,” he said. Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley quickly responded: “Meant to be!” However, Martin continued to share the advice he and Shirlie received from her parents one day.
Shirlie’s mum once asked: “Now, have you tried the wheelbarrow? It’s a position, imagine you’re lifting someone up, hands on the floor.”
Everyone erupted into laughter as Ruby Wax demonstrated the position. Martin and Shirlie welcomed their eldest daughter Harleymoon in 1989, followed by their son Roman Kemp four years later.

Harleymoon, 36, is a singer-songwriter with an impressive 113k followers on Instagram. The music star has also made appearances on TV and recently joined her brother, Roman, on season three of Celebrity Race Across The World.
Meanwhile, Roman, 32, has made his mark in the world of television. The One Show presenter, radio personality and podcast host rose to fame after featuring on the Capital FM breakfast show from 2017 to 2024.
He has also appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox with his dad, not to mention Martin and Roman’s Weekend Best!
