George Pickens Injury Update: What Happened to the Cowboys Star in Week 12 vs. Eagles, and What’s the Latest?

It might have seemed impossible at one point in time. But the Dallas Cowboys were somehow keeping it together against the Philadelphia Eagles in a pivotal matchup for their chances of staying in the playoff race in a jam-packed NFC.
Trailing by as many as 21, the Cowboys had scored 21-straight unanswered points to tie it up. However, in the fourth quarter, one of the key architects of their comeback, George Pickens, seemed to have suffered a massive injury.

What Happened to George Pickens?
For as much ridicule as the Cowboys got for trading away Micah Parsons, they did an excellent job by bringing in George Pickens. Having the best season of his career, despite the demotion from WR1 to WR2, he was critical for the team’s success.
Even in this game, his contribution was all over the field, as he tallied 122 yards and a touchdown on eight catches. However, in the fourth quarter, as Dallas attempted to take the lead for the first time all night, Pickens tried to play a split-second blocker for Dak Prescott.
Unfortunately, banging his knee against the ferocious Eagles’ defensive line, he came away hobbled from the play. Immediately after, he went to the sideline and did not return to the field for the remainder of the drive.
Soon after, the broadcast detailed that he was suffering from cramps in his calf that kept him out of the next Cowboys possession as well. Ultimately, though, he was able to get back on the field for what would turn out to be the game-winning drive for his squad.
Steadily building it in the last two minutes, they set it up perfectly for Brandon Aubrey to nail a 42-yard field goal for the victory. On their final possession, too, Pickens was invaluable for them.
As the offense was slumping, it was a 24-yard catch and run from the former Pittsburgh Steelers that pushed the ball downfield in a chunk play, eventually setting up the 24-21 victory for his new squad.
Having the best season of his career, Pickens had already tallied 908 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, well on his way to a career-high in both categories, as he ranked third in the entire NFL on PFSN’s WR Impact.
