Unstable weather until late Sunday, storms in the west

Rain and thunderstorms are expected Sunday, mainly in western regions, while northern areas will see unusually high temperatures for the season.

Showers and storms will occur intermittently early in the day. Eastern Thessaly, central Greece, the Peloponnese, the Sporades, and Evia will mostly see passing clouds with a small chance of brief, local showers. Conditions will ease gradually by late Sunday evening. Elevated dust levels will affect southern and eastern areas.

Temperatures: Western Macedonia 2–11°C; the rest of Macedonia and Thrace 7–18°C; Thessaly 7–17°C; Epirus 3–13°C; central Greece 7–18°C; Peloponnese 7–19°C; Ionian Islands 7–14°C; northern/eastern Aegean 8–18°C; Cyclades 14–19°C; Dodecanese 17–21°C; Crete 13–20°C. 

Winds at sea will come from the west, generally moderate to fresh, occasionally strong in the Ionian through the morning.

In Athens, mostly local clouds are expected, with light to moderate westerly winds, and temperatures ranging from 11 to 18°C, with the lowest values late in the day.

In Thessaloniki, periods of increased cloudiness may bring brief, light showers, while winds will start variable, shift to light southerlies around midday, and turn westerly later, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 16°C and the minimum late Sunday.
