Teenager dies after being stabbed in Sydney’s north-west

A teenage boy has died after being stabbed in the leg in Sydney’s north-west on Monday afternoon.

In a statement, NSW police said emergency services were called to a reserve on Caballo Street in Rouse Hill at 4.20pm.

A 17-year-old boy suffering stab wounds was treated by NSW paramedics but died at the scene.

Police have established a crime scene and, alongside the state’s homicide squad, commenced an investigation.

The reserve is just minutes away from Ironbark Ridge public school and an early education provider.

The federal attorney-general, Michelle Rowland, whose electorate of Greenway takes in Rouse Hill, described herself of “deeply saddened” to learn of the teenagers’s “tragic” death.

“My thoughts and deepest condolences are with the young boy’s family during this extremely difficult time,” Rowland said in a statement.

“There is no place in our community for these acts of senseless violence, and I know this news will be particularly distressing for local families.”
