Australian users of wildly popular social messaging app Snapchat will start this week receiving notifications about the impending closure of their accounts, if the US-based company deems they are under 16 years old.
The app is used by approximately 500,000 Australians aged between 13 and 15, and will arguably be the most missed by the teen audience the government’s age restrictions are designed to protect.
