Hema Malini and Esha Deol at Pawan hans crematorium
Veteran actor Dharmendra succumbed to age-related health ailments at his Mumbai mansion on Monday (November 24). His family members were by his side when he breathed his last. His mortal remains were taken to the Pawan Hans crematorium with tight police security. Dharmendra was unwell since the beginning of the month. The actor’s 90th birthday preparations were in full swing.
Dharmendra’s sons Bobby and Sunny, along with the veteran actor’s grandsons Karan and Rajveer, were at the crematorium, overseeing funeral arrangements. Hema Malini held herself strongly as she arrived for her husband’s funeral. Dharmendra’s bereaved daughter Esha Deol was at the funeral.
Dharmendra, who was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital, was discharged on November 12, 2025, and continued receiving treatment at home. The official statement read, “Mr Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time. We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”
Hours before Dharmendra’s demise, the makers of his last film, Ikkis, shared his character poster on social media with the caption, “Fathers raise sons. Legends raise nations. Dharmendra ji, an emotional powerhouse as the father of a 21-year-old immortal soldier. One timeless legend brings us the story of another.”
Last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Dharmendra’s last on-screen appearance will be in Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan. The film releases on December 25.
