Alan Carr has opened up about his experience working with radio and television presenter Amanda Holden on his renovation show, The Greek Job.

Fresh from his victory on Celebrity Traitors, Alan is currently hosting his quiz show Picture Slam and is set to return to UK screens with a new programme in January.

Discussing his time working with Amanda in Corfu, the 49-year-old comedian revealed that she even played a role in his dating life.

He shared that Amanda, 54, introduced him to a Greek dating app, but admitted she was somewhat “naïve” about the level of detail some users expect on such platforms, reports the Mirror.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: “Amanda tries to set me up and it becomes a bit like Celebs Go Dating! I go on a few dates and — you know what? — love is in the air. I think you’re gonna be surprised.

“Amanda put me on a Greek app, but I don’t think she realised how much information the gays want! There were sizes, kinks: ‘Are you a train or a tunnel?’ ‘Are you the letter or the letterbox?’”

He added: “She went, ‘Alan, I love you to bits, but I’ve had to guess some of these.’ I think she was a bit naïve and thought they’d be asking about eye colour, but it was quite intimate.”

Alan also revealed that his upcoming programme would feature a host of animals, including a donkey sanctuary.

Having been a familiar face on British television for many years, Alan’s success is the result of hard work. He also claimed that a fortune teller once predicted his rise to fame.

Appearing on ITV’s This Morning, Alan recalled that a fortune teller visited his home when he was a child and predicted he would one day become famous.

Alan was on the programme discussing Changing Ends, a sitcom inspired by his early life. He explained: “People say, ‘Is it real?’ Everything in this series did happen to me.

“A fortune teller came to the door and she was selling pegs, and she said to my mum, ‘Your kid’s gonna be famous.’ And Gary, my brother, was playing in the background.

“So that’s actually in there. And, of course, I’m like, ‘What, him? I want to be famous.’ But that genuinely happened. That is crazy.”

Additionally, after winning Celebrity Traitors, Alan donated his £87,500 prize money to his chosen charity, Neuroblastoma UK.
