FIRST ALERT: rain, storms return early week; much cooler mid-late week
MONDAY: Clouds have made their return to the Mid-South to start off the holiday week. Rain, starting scattered – becoming widespread – showers will make its presence known later into the day. Storms could turn gusty overnight as they roll through. Highs will top out in the lower 60s; rain turns likely overnight with temperatures hovering in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
TUESDAY: Rain continues, at least early – but gradually tapers off ahead of the cold front pushing through the region. Expect highs in the middle to upper 60s with mostly cloudy skies. Skies gradually clear with lows in the 40s by early Wednesday.
EXTENDED FORECAST: With one of the busiest travel days of the year mid-week; our regional forecast looks quiet as colder, drier air moves into the Mid-South. Sunshine returns Wednesday with highs in the middle 50s; Thanksgiving looks quiet and chilly with more sunshine and highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Black Friday will feature much of the same. A FIRST ALERT to another unsettled wet pattern that will likely emerge by this weekend and into the first week of December.
COLOR THE WEATHER: Action News 5 has brought back an old favorite for the kids – the COLOR THE WEATHER program in conjunction with McDonald’s. Each morning during the 6 AM hour, Patrick will show ONE Color the Weather photo and showcase it on the air. You can get the photo to color either at participating Memphis area McDonald’s locations, or you can CLICK HERE and download the picture. Color it and upload it with your name and city to actionnews5.com – then tune in each morning to see if your photo is chosen!
