Manchester City suffer their first defeat in the league phase of the Champions League. Pep Guardiola’s team lost 2-0 at home to Leverkusen in the 5th round, while FC Barcelona also lost.
Manchester City, who did not field their best line-up, were beaten by Leverkusen. If the English side failed to break down the German defensive wall, goalkeeper Mark Flekken was the end of the line. Borussia Dortmund celebrated a 4:0 home win against Villarreal. Serhou Guirassy scored twice for the Bundesliga club with Gregor Kobel in goal for the first time since the end of August. The scene surrounding the 2:0 in the 54th minute was decisive. Villarreal’s Argentinian Juan Foyth was shown the red card after a deliberate handball on his own goal line, and Guirassy converted the resulting penalty with a follow-up shot.
